Yesterday evening, July 19, the Russian army attacked Mykolaiv. Currently, there are 24 injured and three dead as a result of the airstrike.

Correspondents NikVesti visited the scene of the events and talked with the residents of the affected high-rise building.

It should be noted that the Russian rocket used to attack the city fell between apartment buildings. As the mayor of Mykolaiv Oleksandr Sienkevych emphasized, there were neither military personnel nor military equipment nearby.

In particular, local resident Iryna Nesterchuk said that as a result of the rocket attack, a crack formed in the wall of the house, and pieces of the ceiling also fell.

«First of all, it was very loud and dust was coming from the entrance. She looked out and saw that all the windows and everything were smashed. They rushed to the neighbors to check if everything was okay. Panic, shock and fear. My child is 9 months old, he was playing. She burst into tears (after the blow, note), she was scared. I became afraid for the child, even though she is very small. Because we have a crack in the house, and pieces of the ceiling fell. Everyone was scared,» local resident Iryna Nesterchuk said in a comment to NikVesti.

Another local resident, Serhii Karbekov, noted that he «flew two to three meters» due to the impact.

«I flew somewhere two or three meters. It is good that the wife was lying down — she was not thrown anywhere, but glass fragments passed by her. The principle is everything. It's a pity. It was impossible to decide what, where, how and for what. Why is he doing all this?» he asked.

The explosion in Mykolaiv occurred at 5:14 p.m. As it turned out, the blow hit a residential area of the city.

An hour after the attack, Vice Mayor Vitalii Lukov said in a comment to NikVesti that three victims were known at the place of arrival, including a child. The mother of the boy who died as a result of a rocket attack is in a state of shock. Psychologists work with her.

The law enforcement officers started a pre-trial investigation on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It should be noted that previously the occupiers hit the city with an X-59 missile.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also reacted to the attack on Mykolaiv. He noted that now new solutions are needed to support the defense of Ukraine.
