ELU Avtodorig wants to start mechanised street cleaning in Mykolaiv in January

In Mykolaiv, schedules for mechanised street cleaning have been developed, which will be carried out by the municipal enterprise ELU Avtodorig from this year onwards. Work is planned to begin in January.
This was announced during an open staff meeting yesterday, 12 January, according to NikVesti.
As is known, from 1 January 2026, mechanised street cleaning in Mykolaiv was transferred to the municipal enterprise ELU Avtodorig, and part of the work on removing dangerous trees was transferred to district administrations.
«The schedules are ready, and a meeting with the district administrations has been held. There is understanding. If weather conditions permit, we will start work in January,» said Deputy Mayor Yurii Andriienko.
In turn, Dmytro Bezdolnyi, director of the Mykolaiv Housing and Utilities Department, added that the municipal enterprise Mykolaiv Parks will carry out the mechanised cleaning of Soborna Street from Central Avenue to Admiralska Street.
«Everything is ready, except for the changes to the section of Soborna Street from Central Avenue to Admiralska Street. It will be maintained by the municipal enterprise Mykolaiv Parks, because residents complained about large vehicles passing through, and their vehicles are not very large, so it will be more convenient,» said Dmytro Bezdolnyi.
We will remind you that the deputy director of the Mykolaiv Housing and Utilities Department, Ihor Nabatov, said that the mechanised cleaning of Mykolaiv's streets had been transferred to the municipal enterprise ELU Avtodorig, as it had "proven itself" in the mechanised cleaning of streets and roads.
In addition, Ihor Nabatov said that the municipal enterprise Mykolaiv Parks does not have time to process all requests for the removal of dangerous trees, so part of this work will be transferred to district administrations.
Then the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, added that the administrations will continue to control mechanised cleaning and approve work schedules, but will no longer pay for these services. Cleaning will be carried out by the municipal enterprise ELU Avtodorig, which will receive appropriate funding.
