St Sophia Cathedral damaged by enemy shelling in Kyiv

On the night of 10 June, a Russian air strike damaged St Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv.
This was announced by Minister of Culture and Information Policy Mykola Tochytskyi.
According to him, the blast wave caused the destruction of the cornice on the main apse of the national monument.
«Last night, the enemy struck again at the very heart of our identity. The St Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv, a shrine that has survived centuries and symbolises the birth of our statehood, has been damaged,» the statement said.
Over the three years of the full-scale war, Russian troops have damaged or destroyed more than 600 churches in Ukraine, and killed or tortured 67 priests.
