Over the course of more than three years of full-scale war, Ukraine has managed to free 4306 defenders and civilians from Russian captivity.
This was reported by the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Maliuk.
«The work on search and release of prisoners is ongoing. Each of us is aware of its importance and is responsible for the result. We are doing everything possible to fulfil the task set by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Volodymyr Zelenskyy — to bring home all Ukrainians who are in captivity. It has been more than three years of war, and during this time we have managed to release 4306 of our citizens», said Vasyl Maliuk.
He also added that SSU investigators are carrying out all necessary procedural actions in relation to prisoners of war who took part in hostilities on the side of the Russian Armed Forces and were captured by the Defence Forces, including citizens of the People's Republic of China.
Earlier in Donetsk region, Ukrainian troops captured two Chinese citizens who had fought in the Russian army.
On 19 March, 175 Ukrainian servicemen returned from Russian captivity, including soldiers from Mykolaiv region.
