About 35,000 civilian objects have been destroyed or damaged in the Kherson region as a result of the full-scale invasion and constant Russian shelling. Residential buildings, schools, hospitals, and kindergartens are under attack.
The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, told this on the air of the telethon «Yedyni Novyny», according to NikVesti.
«The scale of the destruction in Kherson region is terrible and it continues to grow every day. In total, about 35,000 civilian objects have been damaged or destroyed in the region, including housing, schools, kindergartens, hospitals,» said Prokudin.
He noted that Russian attacks have killed 19 people in Kherson region over the past month alone, and injured 120 others, including three children. Most often, the attacks are carried out with drones and artillery on the liberated communities.
«We have not had a single day when our towns and villages were not hit. Since the de-occupation, the enemy has fired more than half a million shells at Kherson region. They are shooting at the liberated communities with all the weapons they have. They are hitting all civilian and critical infrastructure, simply terrorising the population,» he said.
According to him, despite the daily shelling, the reconstruction works in Kherson region do not stop. So far, more than 5,700 facilities have been repaired.
«But despite the daily attacks by the Russian army, the reconstruction of the region does not stop for a day. More than 5,700 civilian objects have been rebuilt so far, including more than 5,300 civilian houses, 30 multi-storey buildings, five schools, seven kindergartens, and 25 healthcare facilities. We are not stopping,» said Oleksandr Prokudin.
Over the past 24 hours, the Russian army shelled Kherson and more than thirty settlements in the region. One person was killed and two others were wounded in the shelling.
