In Mykolaiv, an official of a municipal enterprise and the company's director were served with a notice of suspicion of misappropriation of budget funds. According to preliminary estimates, the losses to the local budget amount to about 600,000 hryvnias.
This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, in October 2024, two suspects, by prior conspiracy, developed a scheme to embezzle budget funds under the guise of purchasing electrical equipment for street lighting.
The winner of the tender was a controlled company that supplied products worth over 5 million hryvnias. At the same time, according to the agreement, the supplier had to transfer part of the funds in the form of a so-called «kickback».

The winner was a controlled company that supplied equipment worth more than 5 million hryvnias. In turn, the supplier was supposed to transfer the so-called «kickback», the report says.
At the same time, the National Police reported that the searches were conducted in Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv and Ternopil regions.
«Law enforcement officers seized documents with evidence of criminal activity from business entities involved in the criminal scheme, equipment, vehicles, more than 85,000 dollars, more than 15,000 euros and almost 735,000 hryvnias», the statement said.
The issue of choosing a measure of restraint for the suspects is currently being decided. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Law enforcers are identifying other persons who may be involved in the crime.
As a reminder, the Mykolaiv municipal enterprise GDMB (Self-Supporting Construction Mechanisation Section) will spend 15.5 million hryvnias on the repair and restoration of buildings with garages.
