In the coming days, Russia may strike Ukraine again with the Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile.

This is reported by Reuters, AR and Bloomberg with reference to sources among American officials.

According to insiders, Russia has only a few such missiles, which are distinguished by a smaller warhead compared to other missiles regularly used for attacks on Ukraine.

At the same time, the United States does not believe that these weapons have a decisive influence on the course of the war against Ukraine, according to one of the American officials.

Oreshnik: what is known

On the morning of November 21, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with intercontinental ballistic, aeroballistic and cruise missiles. Dnipro came under Russian fire.

It is noted that the intercontinental ballistic missile was launched from the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation, the X-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile from the Tambov region, and the X-101 cruise missiles from the Volgograd region.

Subsequently, it became known that the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, threatens Ukraine with Oreshnyk missiles in order to thwart the efforts of the elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, to end the war.

In turn, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Heorhii Tykhyi, said that with these statements, Putin demonstrates that «he is the only person who wants to continue this war and expand this war.»
