«This is our third birthday in this house»: residents of Mykolaiv showed the consequences of another attack by Shahed

Residents of the damaged building near the Mykolaiv Equator sports complex, which was hit by Russian drones at night, showed half-destroyed apartments.

The apartment of pensioner Halyna Heorhiivna was the most affected by the blast wave — ceilings fell in the rooms, windows and doors were broken. The entire floor was literally «shining» from the amount of broken glass and dishes.

In the room where the woman slept, the ceiling fell directly on her bed. Halyna Heorhiivna herself calls the fact that she survived a miracle.

«I miraculously survived here. And the window, and the TV on the floor, and my computer,» shows Halyna Heorhiivna.

A neighbor helped a woman and her husband take out all the garbage. The woman says that the utility workers brought building materials to sew up the windows so that they don't freeze at night.

«Fortunately, no one was hurt. Only an apartment. And what can we two crooked people do. Do you see that there is simply no one to even take out the garbage? They asked the boy to at least help us clean up a little here. The communal services came to us, they have to bring materials to sew up the windows, because we froze all night,» she says.

After showing the dilapidated apartment, Halyna Georgievna stopped for a minute and added in complete despair: «These were my dishes, things... And God be with them, who needs them already».

A woman Valentina lives on the floor below. For many years, she worked as a seller of fruits and vegetables at the Central Market of Mykolaiv.

It is not the first time that enemy arrivals find her in this house. Crying, the woman says: this is already her third birthday since the invasion.

«As soon as she heard the arrival, she ran to the bathroom. Then she came back and woke up her relative. And 10 minutes later, the second flight arrives. I shout to Natasha: «Run to the bathroom,» but she didn't even hear the explosion. We sat, heard everything. I don't even want to remember how it flew. It threw up all the chandeliers in all the rooms. These walls saved me. They used to be thin here, and when I did the repair, I inserted an additional stone. He saved me. It's our third birthday. Well, nothing, somehow we will slowly restore everything, thank God, even if only the survivors remained,» said Valentyna.

As of today, communal services continue to work at the scene: cleaning, removing garbage, sewing up windows.

Shelling of Mykolaiv on February 8

On the night of February 8, the Russian army attacked Mykolaiv with Shahed 131/136 type unmanned aerial vehicles. Communal and private enterprises came under another hostile attack by the Russian military, and private houses were damaged.

As a result of the impact , heating networks were damaged in Mykolaiv — residents of nine buildings were left without heating.

In connection with the liquidation of the consequences of shelling of Mykolaiv , the movement of trams along routes №1 and №11 was also changed.

Attack on Mykolaiv on February 7

In the morning, the day before, the first explosions were heard in the city around 6 am. As it became known later, Mykolaiv was attacked by Shahed and rockets.

Initially, the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, reported that the roofs of about 20 residential buildings were blown off due to the explosions. City construction crews went to the scene, and residents are being assisted.

Later, RMA added that a technical structure was damaged in the territory of the infrastructure object as a result of shelling. There was a fire there.

The State Emergency Service reported that more than 40 rescuers and 6 units of equipment are working on the liquidation of the consequences.

Leonid Hlove, a resident of Mykolaiv, an employee of the Mykolaiv branch of «Gazmerezha» was injured by a missile strike. The man was hospitalized, but due to a significant number of injuries, he died in intensive care.
