Last weekend, a batch of 20 cars transferred by London as part of the ultra-low emission zone (Ulez) car recycling program arrived in Ukraine.

This is reported by The Guardian.

In total, more than 100 cars were delivered to Ukraine, and about half of them have already been delivered. Another 13 cars are on their way to Ukraine, where they will be used for medical and humanitarian purposes.

It is noted that Ukraine is experiencing a shortage of vehicles, especially near the front line, where ordinary cars and vans are used to transport the wounded.

The Ulez zone is an ultra-low emission zone that was introduced in London in 2020. In August last year, it was extended by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and now covers the entire capital. This makes it the world's largest pollution charging zone. People driving in this zone in a car that does not meet the minimum emissions standards must pay £12.50 a day. Therefore, many of them decided to get rid of cars that do not meet the standards.

It will be recalled that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russian troops, damage to the Ukrainian environment has been caused to the amount of 2.4 trillion hryvnias.
