Norway transfers spare parts for Sea King helicopters to Ukraine to support their maintenance.

This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Norway, Bjorn Arild Gram.

«Norway considers it important that Ukraine is provided for the development of its coast guard and increases its maritime capabilities as soon as possible. Norway will provide spare parts for Sea King helicopters to help support the operation and maintenance of the helicopters that were transferred to Ukraine by Germany,» said Defense Minister Björn Arild Gram.

It is noted that Sea King helicopters were in service with Norway from 1973 to 2023, and now they have been replaced by SAR Queen helicopters. The Sea Kings themselves have reached the maximum number of flight hours and therefore cannot be transferred.

We will remind that recently the Ministry of Defense of Australia began to dispose of MRH-90 Taipan helicopters, which were decommissioned in September 2023, despite Kyiv's request to hand them over to Ukraine.
