The Pension Fund reported an increase in payments: the average pension in Ukraine was 6,436 hryvnias in October

As of 1 October 2025, the average pension in Ukraine is 6,436.79 hryvnias, up from 6,410.17 hryvnias in early July. Payments for working pensioners have also increased — on average, they receive 95 hryvnias more than three months ago.

This was reported by the Pension Fund of Ukraine. According to its data, as of the beginning of October, there are 10.2 million pensioners in the country, of which 2.8 million continue to work.

Most pensioners, namely 55.8%, receive payments not exceeding ₴5,000. In particular, 3.6% have a pension of up to ₴3,000, another 31.6% of Ukrainians have a pension of between ₴3,001 and 4,000, and 20.6% have a pension of between ₴4,001 and 5,000. At the same time, 29.1% of Ukrainians receive a pension of ₴5,001 to 10,000. Only 15% of pensioners in Ukraine have more than ₴10,000.

The overwhelming majority of Ukrainians (73%) receive a retirement pension. Another 14.5% receive disability pensions.

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada proposed to raise salaries for university professors to reduce the outflow of staff abroad.
