This year, Mykolaiv Oblast exported 2.3 million tons of grain

During 2023, Mykolaiv Oblast exported 2.3 million tons of grain and leguminous crops.

This became known during the press conference of the head of Mykolayiv RMA Vitalii Kim regarding the results of the work of the regional government in 2023, writes NikVesti.

In general, this year the region exported 169,000 tons of grain more than last year, said the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Office, Heorhii Reshetilov.

«Compared to 2022, we have exported 2 million 303 thousand grains and legumes in total. This is 169,000 tons more than last year. If we talk about wheat, then it is 1 million 413 thousand tons against 1 million 237 thousand tons. Next, sunflower, buckwheat and everything else — there is an increase in all directions. This is due to two main factors: land demining and agro-climatic conditions, which made it possible to increase the harvest,» said Heorhii Reshetilov.

It was previously reported that the losses of Mykolaiv Oblast farmers due to the full-scale war amounted to 5.5 billion dollars.

Earlier, farmer Serhii Kaushan from Kyselivka, Mykolaiv region, said that this year's harvest season was unsuccessful due to landmines and problems with the sale of grain. According to him, grain prices have tripled. Because of this, it is difficult for farmers to «stay afloat».

At the same time, the head of RMA Vitalii Kim said that currently Mykolaiv farmers are unable to sell their crops at an acceptable price. The cost of grain is very low due to logistics problems.
