Mykolaiv Marines — the 36th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilynskyi, is an elite unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine based in Mykolaiv. The brigade plays a crucial role in defending southern Ukraine, participating in some of the toughest combat operations since the beginning of the Russian aggression. The marines of the 36th Brigade distinguished themselves in the battles for Mariupol and in halting the enemy’s advance in the Mykolaiv region.
