Mykolaiv sabre fencers win gold at the Ukrainian Junior Championships

On Tuesday, 21 January, Mykolaiv saber fencers won first place at the Ukrainian Junior Championships in Kyiv. This is the second award for Viktoriia Korotchenko at these competitions.

According to the National Fencing Federation of Ukraine, Volodymyr Babenko, Maryna Petrychko and Anastasiia Tsap won gold along with Victoria.

First, the Mykolaiv athletes defeated their Cherkasy rivals with a score of 45:39. And then they won gold in a match against the Kyiv team: 45:44.

«The last set of awards in sabre fencing at the Ukrainian Junior Championships, which are taking place in Kyiv, has been played out. The strongest in the team championship were the girls. It should be noted that they kept the intrigue to the last, both medal fights ended with a difference of one stroke», — said the Federation.

Earlier it was reported that Mykolaiv saber fencer Viktoriia Korotchenko became the Ukrainian junior champion for the third time.
