The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the concept of the state target program for comprehensive water supply of territories affected by military operations. It will work until 2030.

This is reported by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Ruslan Strilets, called the approved document «revolutionary» and added that the last time such a program operated in Ukraine was in 2012-2021 and was only 27% implemented.

«Today, we do not have the right to slow movement towards a «good» state of waters. The new program will include financing from international aid — 57%, state — 37%, and local budgets — 6%,» says the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Ruslan Strilets.

According to him, it is important that the program will create new jobs for people engaged in restoration work. Implementation is planned on the territory of 9 oblasts — Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk and Kharkiv.

The strategic measures of the Program include three main tasks, including 57 measures. Including:

  • construction of water supply systems;
  • construction, reconstruction and overhaul of hydrotechnical structures;
  • clearing of riverbeds and reservoirs;
  • attraction of groundwater for diversification of water supply sources.

We will remind how the Cabinet of Ministers during the martial law allowed not to publish information about purchases for defense needs, as well as not to announce the location of supplier enterprises.
