Plans are in place to upgrade the water supply system in Pervomaisk at a cost of €3.9 million

In Pervomaisk, there are plans to renovate almost 9 kilometres of water mains at a cost of €3.9 million. Most of the funding for the project will be provided by Denmark through a grant from the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO).

The project involves the reconstruction of the main water pipeline from the OSV-1 treatment plant to the «Kontrrezervuary» pumping station. The total cost of the project is around €3.9 million. Of this, the city will receive €3.6 million as a grant from NEFCO, with the city council co-financing a further 10%.

As part of the project, plans are in place to completely replace 8.8 kilometres of the water main, upgrade sections of the network in poor condition, and implement energy-efficient solutions. It is expected that this will save around 1.2 million cubic metres of water annually and reduce network losses.

Construction work is scheduled to begin in June 2026. According to the project, the reconstruction is due to be completed in the autumn, though exact dates may be subject to change.

«According to the project, it should be completed in October, but I don’t know exactly when it will be finished. I cannot take responsibility for when exactly the project will be completed,» explained First Deputy Mayor Dmytro Malyshevskyi.

It was previously reported that Pervomaisk plans to secure over €5.5 million in grant funding from the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) for the renovation of the maternity hospital and the implementation of energy-efficient solutions.
