325 hectares of land were returned to the state over the course of a year in Mykolaiv region

Last year, the Mykolaiv Region Prosecutor's Office returned 325 hectares of land to the state and ensured the enforcement of court decisions worth over 5 million hryvnias.

This is stated in the annual report of the Mykolaiv Region Prosecutor's Office.

According to the prosecutor's office, 47 court decisions totalling 5 million 240 thousand hryvnias were enforced during the year. In addition, 325 hectares of land were returned to the state.

During the year, 80 indictments were sent to court in cases involving crimes against the environment, which is more than in the previous year. The total amount of damages established exceeded 114 million hryvnias. The suspects' property was seized for more than 5 million hryvnias, and claims for damages of more than 104 million hryvnias were also filed.

Among the high-profile cases was the exposure of the illegal transfer of land from the nature reserve fund to private ownership. In particular, an indictment was sent to court against the former head of the regional department of the State Geocadastre, who made the decision to transfer four plots of land in the Pryinhulskyi Regional Landscape Park. The prosecutor's office separately filed a lawsuit to return these lands to state ownership.

Also in 2025, law enforcement officers exposed four organised groups engaged in illegal logging in various districts of the region. In one case, the damage to the state amounted to almost 900,000 hryvnias.

It should be noted that the Bashtanka District Prosecutor's Office filed a lawsuit to cancel a contract for the joint cultivation of more than 360 hectares of land worth 8.7 million hryvnias. It demands that the land be returned to the state for further use for educational purposes.
