Deputies of the Mykolaiv City Council withdrew from consideration the issue of allowing the municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv Parks» to take out a 45.1 million hryvnias loan for equipment under the programme «Available loans 5-7-9%».

When forming the agenda of the sessions of Mykolaiv city council, the mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych proposed to exclude the issue from consideration.

«Number 13 is an unfortunate number, let's remove it from the agenda without consideration. We say that we have serious debt encumbrances. And here we are approving a new loan. It does not fit into this framework. When it was being developed, it may have been the right thing to do. Now it will look somehow unreasonable and incomprehensible», the mayor commented.

However, he noted that the issue will be postponed and, if possible, funding will be considered in the future.

«When the idea came up, it was a good one, but it crashed into reality. We will put it on the shelf until better times. Perhaps donors will help us and throw in something», the mayor added.

The draft decision states that ME «Mykolaiv Parks» requested permission to enter into a loan agreement under the state programme «Affordable loans of 5-7-9%» for the purchase of special equipment for winter and summer cleaning of the city.

The cost of the equipment was 45 million 100 thousand 315 hryvnias, so they requested a loan for this amount. The term is up to 3 years from the date of signing the agreement, the interest rate is at least 4%, maximum 23%; compensation — 1% per annum for the first 5 years, 5% per annum from the sixth year.

The item was voted off the agenda by 37 deputies.

As a reminder, in November of this year, the parliamentary commission on housing and communal services already refused to approve the allocation of 45.1 million hryvnias loan for the purchase of additional cleaning machines for the municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv Parks».

It should be noted that the company has significantly expanded its vehicle fleet, purchasing equipment not only at the expense of the city budget, but also with loans. Even before the full-scale invasion, in January 2022, «Mykolaiv Parks» had only one specialised vehicle, director Dmytro Chuchmai said earlier. Now the number of specialised vehicles is about 60.

In August 2024, the director said that the company had 54 units of equipment, and their cost was 30-35 million hryvnias.

Later, the company asked the city council to provide a loan of 43 million hryvnias for four cleaning machines. The deputies approved the loan, and now this equipment is already operating in the fleet of «Mykolaiv Parks».
