Kim says that the Ministry of Energy promises to adjust the conditions of power outages in Pivdennoukrainsk

The Ministry of Energy has promised to review the current conditions of the power outage schedules in Pivdennoukrainsk.

Vitalii Kim, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, said this on the air of the TV channel.

According to him, the issue was raised during a meeting in Kharkiv dedicated to the life of the frontline regions. Among other topics, they discussed the situation with power outages in Pivdennoukrainsk.

«We, like everyone else, are dependent on the unified energy system of Ukraine. There was a meeting in Kharkiv that was related to the life of the frontline regions. Several issues were agreed upon regarding Mykolaiv region. But one of the main ones was the appeal of Pivdennoukrainsk regarding the disconnection of gas supply. This is wrong, as they are a satellite town of nuclear power plants. I was promised by Acting Energy Minister Artem Nekrasov that this issue would be looked into and corrected,» said Vitalii Kim.

We would like to remind you that local residents complained at the session about long power outages, while the city has no alternative energy sources. In this regard, the mayor sent official letters to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, Ukrenergo and Mykolaiv Regional State Administration asking them to grant Pivdennoukrainsk a status of a «high security facility» and to take into account the lack of gas supply.

During the press conference, the Pivdennoukrainsk City Council informed local residents that it had asked the government to revise the schedules of power outages, but received a response that granting special conditions to the city «would be considered discrimination» against other consumers.
