The construction of a waste sorting and recycling complex in the Koblivska community, which the Polish company Centrum Wspierania Obrotu Energia promised to implement in 2023, has not yet begun.
This is stated in the response of the Koblivka village council to an information request NikVesti.
The community confirmed that at the time of the request, no construction work was underway at the facility. The reason for this is that the documentation for the land plot required to start construction is still being processed.
According to the village council, the investor does not have an approved construction schedule. The company has just started designing the environmental complex, which should include waste sorting, processing, recycling and disposal. Further implementation dates will be determined after receiving an expert opinion on the project documentation.
In July 2023, the Kobleve community signed a 25-year concession agreement with the investor. The company promised to finance the construction of a waste processing facility, purchase equipment and take over the organisation of the entire waste management system. However, due to the war, the investor was unable to insure the construction equipment for a long time and thus bring it to the site.
The agreement provides for the construction of a waste sorting, disposal and neutralisation complex. All works will be financed by a Polish company. It will also purchase transport for waste transportation and landfill clean-up, as well as pay for the organisation of waste processing and disposal.
At the same time, in June, the DREAM state system published a project for the construction of a plant for the integrated sorting and processing of solid waste in the Kobleve community.
It is noted that the project involves the construction of an eco-friendly plant that will sort and recycle solid household waste, both new and those that have accumulated in landfills. The plant will separate waste into paper, polyethylene, plastic, PET bottles, glass and metal. Plastic, glass and other materials will be further processed for further use in production.
It is also stated that the plant will allow to separate valuable fractions suitable for recycling and return them to economic circulation. This will help reduce the amount of waste and the number of landfills in the community.
However, the platform does not indicate either the cost of the project or the construction timeframe.
