Heating season starts in Yuzhnoukrainsk

The 2025-2026 heating season is officially starting in Pivdenoukrainsk.

The relevant order was signed by Mayor Valeriy Onufrienko, taking into account the predicted drop in temperature and deteriorating weather conditions.

The city will start supplying heat to residential buildings, schools, kindergartens and healthcare facilities on 17 October 2025.

According to the order, the municipal enterprise «Heat Supply and Water Sewerage Facilities» of the Pivdennoukrainsk City Council and the branch of the separate subdivision of the South Ukrainian NPP SE NPC «Energoatom» are recommended to start technical work on heat supply.

The mayor retained control over the implementation of the order.

As a reminder, Mykolaiv is preparing for the heating season in view of possible attacks on the energy and gas transmission infrastructure. Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych urged citizens to be prepared for the most difficult scenarios, as Russian attacks on the energy system could happen again.

Overall, the heating season in Ukraine will start on time, according to the schedule. The Ministry of Energy clarified that the dates specified in the government decree: from 1 November to 31 March, do not relate to the supply of heat to homes, but to the regulation of the natural gas market.

Earlier, the head of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration Vitalii Kim noted that the start of the heating season in Mykolaiv was to be postponed and the heating would be launched later. This is explained as a cost-saving measure.
