«Mykolaivoblteploenergo» will take over the heating networks of the «Zoria» plant built in the 50s.
This is stated in the article NikVesti: «This winter may be more difficult»: How Mykolaiv is preparing for the heating season».
According to Mykola Lohvinov, director of the company, the condition of these networks is extremely worn out, so emergencies cannot be ruled out during the heating season. The company currently manages more than 500 kilometres of heating mains, some of which were laid in the 60s and 80s.
«Now we have to take over all the heating networks that were on the balance sheet of the plant «Zoria» — and they date back to the 50s. Since 2016, we have taken over about 140 kilometres of heating mains. Last year, in particular, we took over 10 kilometres of networks from Mykolaiv TPP. We completely replaced the heating main at Persha Slobidska, while all the others have withstood the hydraulics,» said Mykola Lohvinov.
As a reminder, Mykolaiv is preparing for the heating season in view of possible attacks on the energy and gas transmission infrastructure. Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych urged citizens to be prepared for the most challenging scenarios, as Russian attacks on the energy system could happen again.
Overall, the heating season in Ukraine will start on time, according to the schedule. The Ministry of Energy clarified that the dates specified in the government decree: from 1 November to 31 March, do not relate to the supply of heat to homes, but to the regulation of the natural gas market.
Earlier, the head of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration Vitalii Kim noted that the start of the heating season in Mykolaiv was to be postponed and the heating would be launched later. This is explained as a cost-saving measure.
