Ukraine's air defence system is about 74% effective, but the country needs to strengthen the protection of rear energy facilities, critical infrastructure and logistics.

This was announced by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.

According to him, over the past month, the Russian army has increased the number of air attacks by 1.3 times, so «we are facing new challenges».

Oleksandr Syrskyi also reported on the results of strikes on military and fuel facilities in Russia. According to him, 70 such targets were hit in September, which led to a 21% reduction in oil refining in Russia.

The Commander-in-Chief also spoke about the situation at the frontline. It remains difficult — the Ukrainian Defence Forces are focusing their main efforts on deterring the enemy and stabilising the situation in the most threatening areas: Lymany, Pokrovske, Dobropillia and Novopavlivka.

According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian troops lost about 28,500 soldiers in September. A counter-offensive operation by Ukrainian troops in the Dobropillia sector is also underway.

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine has significant potential in the production of drones, missiles and other weapons. According to the head of state, despite the difficult conditions of the war, Ukrainians managed to create a powerful defence industry, and in some areas even surpassed other countries.
