In Odesa, the installation «Alley of Unbreakable Cities» will be replenished with a column in honour of Mykolaiv. Its opening is scheduled for the City Day, 2 September.

This was announced by the adviser to the mayor of Mykolaiv, Ivan Smirenskyi, according to NikVesti.

According to him, the 16-column exhibition will be brought to Mykolaiv afterwards.

«In Odesa, the installation dedicated to the cities affected by the war will be replenished with a column of the hero city of Mykolaiv. It is scheduled to be unveiled on the Day of the Foundation of Odesa, 2 September. After that, 16 columns — symbols of 16 unbreakable cities of Ukraine — will move to Mykolaiv itself. We are waiting!» Ivan Smirenskyi wrote.

Earlier it was reported that an exposition honouring the victims of the war and Ukrainian cities that survived was opened on Birzhova Square (formerly Dumska Square) in Odesa. At the same time, this list did not include Mykolaiv and Voznesensk, cities that played a key defensive role in southern Ukraine.

After a wave of criticism, Odesa City Hall promised to fund the creation of a stele in honour of Mykolaiv.
