Over the first six months of this year, Mykolaiv community has donated more than two thousand drones worth 28 million hryvnias to the military.

This was announced by Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych during a press conference on 30 July, summing up the results of the first half of the year, NikVesti.

According to him, the volume of aid has already exceeded the figures for the whole of last year.

«In the first half of the year, we «surpassed» the whole of last year, and we plan to continue this work. We also donated six generators, five Starlink terminals, two vehicles and other equipment from the city's reserve,» said Sienkevych.

Sienkevych also recalled an important initiative that has been ongoing since last year: the transfer of special backpacks for Mykolaiv residents released from captivity. The project is funded from the city budget and implemented with the support of local businesses.

«The idea is that the Mykolaiv community hands over a backpack containing essential items to the people of Mykolaiv who have been released from captivity. Starting with personal items: towels, bathroom accessories, goodies and postcards from Mykolaiv children, which show that Mykolaiv residents are waiting for each and every one of those released from captivity. For us, the release of our Heroes and Heroines is a holiday,» said Oleksandr Sienkevych.

Earlier it was reported that Oleksandr Sienkevych travelled to the East of the country and handed over drones, a repaired car and other essentials to the military.
