Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitrii Peskov said that the explosion that occurred on the Crimean Bridge the day before did not damage the structure.
This was reported by Russian state media «TASS» and «RIA Novosti».
Dmitrii Peskov confirmed the explosion, but assured that «nothing was damaged». According to him, the Russian authorities are taking security measures.
As a reminder, the SSU attacked the Crimean bridge underwater. Agents of the special service mined and blew up the bridge's pillars. Also, according to the intelligence services, the bridge's piers at the bottom level were seriously damaged.
It should be noted that the SSU has already hit the bridge twice — in 2022 and 2023. The explosion and fire on the Kerch Bridge occurred on 8 October 2022. According to Russian investigators, a truck was blown up on the bridge, which led to the collapse of two spans of the road and a massive fire on the railway part of the bridge. Four people were killed.
After that, on 17 July 2023, there was an attack by a Ukrainian drone «Sea Baby». The GUR noted at the time that the strikes on the Kerch Bridge had once again worsened the situation for the enemy group in southern Ukraine and caused «a hysterical» reaction from the military and political leadership of the Russian Federation. CNN published exclusive footage showing the moment when an experimental naval drone «Sea Baby» was used to attack the Kerch Bridge.
