Energy company DTEK has received a loan of about 3 billion hryvnias from Ukrainian banks to build a large energy storage complex.
The company noted that this is the largest internal loan in the company's history.
The project envisages the installation of five power plants with a total capacity of 180 MW. In total, the company plans to build six such plants in different regions of Ukraine, which will provide a capacity of up to 200 MW.
According to DTEK CEO Maksym Timchenko, the project's goal is not just to restore the power grid, but to create a new, reliable power system that will become the basis for economic development.
The power plants are expected to supply electricity to up to 600,000 Ukrainian households. The construction is scheduled to be completed in 2025.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine will build the country's first digital substation. To do this, DTEK has attracted a €11 million grant from the French government to build the country's first digital substation in partnership with GE Vernova, an international power equipment company.
