US President Donald Trump has made a statement about Russian leader Vladimir Putin, saying that he has «gone absolutely crazy». He also warned that an attempt to completely take over Ukraine could lead to the collapse of Russia itself.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump noted that he used to have a good relationship with Putin, but, according to him, the Russian leader has changed and «is killing people for no reason».

The US president pointed to numerous missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities as an example of this behaviour.

Trump also suggested that Putin is indeed seeking a full occupation of Ukraine. He stressed that the realisation of such intentions could have fatal consequences for Russia itself.

«Missiles and drones are firing on cities in Ukraine for no reason. I've always said he wants all of Ukraine, not just part of it, and maybe that's true, but if he does that, it will lead to the downfall of Russia!», Donald Trump said.

In addition to his criticism of Putin, Trump also drew attention to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He expressed dissatisfaction with his rhetoric, saying that it only complicates the situation, and urged the Ukrainian leader to change his approach to public statements.

Earlier, during a telephone conversation with European leaders, Donald Trump said that Vladimir Putin had no intention of stopping the war in Ukraine, as he believed that Russia was winning.

As a reminder, the phone call between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to reach a truce in Russia's war against Ukraine lasted more than two hours.
