The sowing campaign is underway in the Kherson region. This year, farmers plan to sow about 250,000 hectares, which is one and a half times more than last year.
This was reported by the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
It is noted that as of now, almost 50 thousand hectares have already been sown. These are spring grains, legumes, industrial crops, vegetables, potatoes, as well as watermelons and melons.
In addition, in the autumn of 2024, farmers sowed winter crops — wheat, barley and rapeseed — on an area of over 110 thousand hectares.
«Despite all the trials and tribulations that Russia has brought to Kherson land, our farmers continue to tirelessly sow the fields of Kherson region. And every year the amount of land on which the best products are grown is only growing», said Dmytro Butrii, First Deputy Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, during a briefing.
This year, farmers in Mykolaiv region are planning to sow more than 1.4 million hectares, which is almost as much as before the start of the full-scale war. Until 2022, the region would sow 1.5 to 1.6 million hectares annually.
