The court found guilty Russian Lieutenant Colonel Maksim Uvarov, who abused civilians during the occupation of Snihurivka district, forcing them to cooperate. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison in absentia.

It is noted that in May 2022, in the occupied village of Snihurivka community, Bashtanka district, the convict, together with other Russian servicemen, abducted a 52-year-old local woman to find out about local men from the Armed Forces.
«The occupiers intimidated the woman, blindfolded her and forced her to walk «through the mined» territory. They poured petrol on her and threatened to set her on fire. After that, the victim was imprisoned in the premises of the local police station, which had been transformed into an illegal place of detention for civilians», the statement said.
The case was heard in the framework of a special pre-trial investigation. The Russian lieutenant colonel was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The sentence has not yet entered into force.
