Kherson region farmers plan to sow 220,000 hectares of de-occupied land this year

This year, farmers from the Kherson region plan to sow about 220,000 hectares of de-occupied land.

According to the Kherson Regional Military Administration, farmers have already sown more than 120,000 hectares of grain and rapeseed. Winter crops are currently being tended to: fertilisers are being applied, cultivation and harrowing are underway, and spring crops are being sown.

It is planned to sow almost 23,000 hectares of spring grains and legumes, 66,000 hectares of industrial crops, and another 10,000 hectares of potatoes, vegetables, watermelons and melons, the statement said.

This year's sowing area will be one and a half times higher than last year's sowing area, the report says.

As a reminder, in 2025 Mykolaiv region farmers also plan to plant 100,000 hectares more crops thanks to the demined areas.
