We managed to return 17 citizens to Ukraine from the temporarily occupied territories.

This was announced by the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets.

According to him, a man who lost a limb as a result of shelling and «experienced ill-treatment due to deprivation of personal freedom as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine» was returned. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation.

We also managed to return three families from the Kherson region who had been under occupation for a long time. One of the families had lost their mother, and another needed medical care due to her advanced age.

Among those returned:

• An elderly woman and her daughter who travelled the difficult path through the territory of the Russian Federation to return home on their own;
• an elderly man with a disability who has vision problems and needs medical care and special attention;
• A 77-year-old woman who was evacuated from the area of active hostilities and needs medical care due to chronic illnesses;
• a man who has been in the occupied territory for almost 3 years and expressed a desire to leave for the sake of his future;
• two women who had been waiting for a long time to return to the government-controlled territory.

As a reminder, five children and three adults have been returned to the government-controlled territory of Ukraine under the President's Bring Kids Back UA programme.
