From January 1, 2025, Russia will stop paying pensions to residents of the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region who do not have a Russian passport.

This is stated in the decree of the occupation governor Volodymyr Saldo.

According to the document, only citizens of the Russian Federation who permanently reside in the Kherson region have the right to receive pensions.

Pension payments will be suspended for foreigners and stateless persons. Those who do not have a Russian passport and live in territories occupied after September 1, 2024, will be paid a pension of 10,000 rubles for another year. However, there are no such territories in the Kherson region.

It was previously reported that the Kherson region plans to pay material assistance to young specialists who return to work in the deoccupied territory of the region.
