International partners will help Ukraine until 2034 in land demining

Ukraine received support from 14 countries to clear its territories of mines for the next 9 years.

This was announced by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in Telegram.

Representatives of 14 countries that are part of the Mine Action Coalition agreed on a road map of actions for 2025-2034.

«Contamination of Ukrainian territories with explosive residues is one of the biggest threats to civilians. For this, more efforts are needed to clear the land and ensure safety,» said Ruslan Berehulia, head of the Main Department of Mine Action.

In 2024, thanks to the Coalition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine received:

• 40 M113 armored personnel carriers;
• more than 200 anti-drone systems;
• 118 SUVs;
• 240 minesweepers for demining.

We would like to remind you that as of the end of November 2024, Mykolaiv Oblast remains one of the most mined territories of Ukraine.

It is noted that 26,955 units of explosive objects have been removed and destroyed in the region since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of pyrotechnics.

Also, with the help of manual, mechanized, canine demining, territories with a total area of more than 10,000 hectares were surveyed.

In addition, in 2024, the number of accidents with explosive objects in the Mykolayiv region halved compared to last year: in 2023, 64 were recorded, and for this year - 26.
