Worked for the Russians during the occupation: three employees of the Kherson penal colony were informed of the suspicion

Three former employees of the Kherson correctional colony were informed in absentia about the suspicion of collaborationism.

The prosecutor's office of the Mykolaiv region informed about this.

It is reported that the suspects worked in Northern Correctional Colony №90 in Kherson. During the occupation, they started working for the Russians.

«In July 2022, one of the suspects was appointed as the «head of the unit of the department of educational work with convicts of the Northern Correctional Colony No. 90 of the Department of Correctional Services in the Kherson Region», and the other two suspects were appointed as «junior inspectors of the supervision group of the security department» of this institution,» added in prosecutor's office

It is also indicated that the suspects in their positions ensured the regime in the illegally created law enforcement body. They face up to 15 years in prison.

Note: in accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.

We will remind that in January of this year, the former head of the Northern Correctional Colony №90 was also notified in absentia of suspicion of violating the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). In February, he was found guilty of treason and sentenced to life imprisonment.
