Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, the chairman of the board of NEC Ukrenergo, announced this.
«If we talk about the trunk network operated by Ukrenergo, today, despite the fact that our facilities are also constantly shelled, fortunately, these shellings do not lead to any network restrictions. And today, we are able to use our main network to transport the amount of electricity needed by our consumers to any region,» said Volodymyr Kudrytskyi.
According to him, the main problem is the volume of production of the required amount of electricity. At the same time, the situation with the import of electricity from Europe is not easy, since consumption has increased on the European markets, and prices have also increased. At the same time, Ukrainian companies that used to purchase electricity have stopped doing so for the time being due to the lack of blackouts. Therefore, now they will have to return to this practice.
«Electricity production is not as great as we would like — due to massive damage to power plants. These are the same 9 gigawatts of capacity that the enemy damaged or destroyed, which the President also talked about, and which government officials often talk about. It is the damage to generating capacities today that leads to a certain deficit due to Russian attacks,» he added.
We would like to remind you that the utility company Mykolaivoblenergo is again starting to introduce blackout schedules. On August 19, they plan to apply one turn of shutdowns from 17:00 to 21:00.
