Zelenskyy called on the Prime Minister and the President of Poland to come to the border to meet with the Ukrainian delegation

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the situation on the border with Poland and sent his delegation to the border. He also called on the Polish government to come to the border.

The head of state said this in his video message on February 21.

Zelenskyy invited Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Andrzej Duda to the border.

«I instructed our government to be on the border between our states in the near future, by February 24. And I ask you, Donald, Mr. Prime Minister, to come to the border as well. Andrzej, Mr. President, I am asking you to support this dialogue. This is national security. We must not drag it out. The coming days give us a chance to do it,» said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The President expressed his readiness to also come to the border together with the Ukrainian government.

«I want to address now to the European Commission: unity in Europe must be preserved. This is a fundamental interest of the European Union. Therefore, Ukraine appeals to the European Commission to have a representative of the European Commission participate in this meeting. Enough of Moscow on our lands. Enough misunderstandings,» said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to the head of state, the delegation will stay at the border for three days.

Earlier it was reported that on Tuesday, February 20, Polish protesters blocked the railway at the «Medyka — Shehyny» checkpoint and spilled grain from a freight car onto the track.

It will be recalled that on February 11, in front of the checkpoint «Yahodyn — Dorohusk», where the movement of trucks has been blocked for the third day, Polish farmers dumped part of the grain from three Ukrainian trucks.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine condemned the deliberate destruction of Ukrainian grain by Polish protesters on the Ukrainian-Polish border.

On February 13, it became known that law enforcement officers in Poland opened a case against protesting farmers who spilled Ukrainian grain on the ground.

Also, the Minister of Agriculture of Poland, Czeslaw Sekerski, asked for an apology from Ukraine for the incident with the scattered grain, which happened on Sunday on the Polish-Ukrainian border.
