Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the SSU in Mykolaiv Region has investigated almost 300 cases involving collaborators

For the period from February 24, 2022 to November 24, 2023, the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine initiated 286 criminal proceedings related to crimes against the foundations of national security and justifying Russia's aggression against Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region.

Such data was provided to NikVesti by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

127 indictments were sent to the court, including 47 cases of collaborative activity, 23 cases of glorification of the aggressor, 28 cases of unauthorized dissemination of information, 22 cases of treason and other violations of the law.

«As of November 24, the SBU Office in the Mykolaiv Oblast has 25 criminal proceedings in which 29 persons have been notified of suspicion of committing crimes of the specified category (of which: 13 are in custody; 13 persons are suspected in absentia with court rulings on granting permission for detention and delivery to the court for the selection of a preventive measure in the form of detention; 2 — under house arrest; 1 — under bail),» the prosecutor's office of the Mykolayiv region noted.

As of November 24, 2023, out of the number of criminal proceedings that were sent to court since February 24, 2023, guilty verdicts were issued in 67 courts: 13 — with real imprisonment for terms from 5 to 15 years; 27 — to deprivation of liberty with a probationary period; 27 (regarding misdemeanors) — with a ban on holding positions in state authorities, state administration, local self-government bodies and bodies providing public services for a period of 10 years.

Of them:

  • actions aimed at a violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or at the seizure of state power — 1;
  • encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine — 3;
  • treason — 4 (all up to 15 years of imprisonment);
  • collaborative activity — 35 (4 — up to imprisonment for 5 and 6 years);
  • unauthorized dissemination of information — 7 (5 — up to imprisonment for 5, 8, and 11 years);
  • glorification of the aggressor — 17.

It was previously reported that in 2023, the number of registered criminal proceedings in the field of defense increased threefold in the Mykolaiv region.

It will be recalled that the traitor ex-deputy of Mykolaiv, Serhii Shubin, a teacher at one of the universities who wrote the concept of the «Mykolaiv People's Republic», was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
