The European Investment Bank (EIB) provided more than 60 million euros in loans under EU guarantees for the restoration of the MO1 road section and investments in public transport in Kyiv, Odesa and Sumy.

This was reported in the bank's press service, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

It is noted that EUR 43.48 million of the provided funding is intended for the reconstruction of the section of highway M01 «Kyiv — Chernihiv — Novi Yarylovychi».

At the beginning of the 2022 war, this route was used by enemy military forces trying to occupy Kyiv, which caused significant damage.

Another 17.25 million euros have been allocated for the renewal of urban public transport, which is necessary for the mobility of Ukrainian cities.

The financing is aimed at the purchase of new buses, trolleybuses and trams, as well as the necessary spare parts and equipment for maintenance.

This investment includes new buses for Kyiv, Ukrainian-made trams for Odesa and trolleybuses for Sumy.

It will be recalled that the European Investment Bank (EIB) reported that 7.8 million euros for the project to reconstruct sewage treatment facilities in Mykolaiv «will solve the problem of water shortage.»
