The Minister of Defense of Ukraine is flying to Washington to meet with the head of the Pentagon

On Tuesday, July 2, Defense Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umierov will visit Washington, where he plans to meet with his American counterpart Lloyd Austin to discuss cooperation and regional security.

Ukrinform reports that Deputy Spokesperson of the US Ministry of Defense Sabrina Singh announced this at a briefing the day before.

«The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umierov will visit the Pentagon tomorrow to meet with Minister Austin. This visit underscores the continued commitment of the United States to support the sovereignty and security of Ukraine,» said Sabrina Singh.

The representative of the US Department of Defense noted that the ministers will discuss bilateral defense cooperation and regional security issues.

In addition, the talks will discuss ways to strengthen the defense partnership between the United States and Ukraine.

We will remind, the Pentagon expects that Ukraine will receive the first F-16 fighter jets already this year.
