Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych has promised to create all conditions for councillors to attend commission meetings, including workplaces and even «bunks» to rest in the city council's bomb shelter.
He stated this at the 49th session of the city council during a discussion of reformatting the commissions due to problems with quorum, NikVesti reports.
He added that the council apparatus, he personally and the city council secretary, Dmytro Falko, would provide everything necessary for the deputies to gather and hold a meeting.
«We will organise a place for you, a bomb shelter, workplaces, tables, chairs, fresh air. All this will be available in our shelter. If this prevents you from coming to the commission, we will organise everything for you. At any time. If you need it at midnight, we will find it, but you will have to stay until five in the morning, because we have a curfew. So, if something prevents someone from coming, I am sure that the council staff and I will personally take part, and, of course, Dmytro Falko, as the secretary of the city council, we will organise everything so that you can get together and meet. If you want to stay in the City Hall from 12 to 5 am, we will even arrange bunks for you, so that you have a place to rest,» said Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych.
On 19 November, a meeting of the city council's Standing Committee on Human Rights, Children, Family, Legality, Transparency, Anti-Corruption Policy, Local Self-Government and Deputy Ethics was cancelled due to a conflict between the deputies.
In particular, Tetiana Dombrovska, a member of the «Servant of the People» party, accused her colleagues of making incorrect statements about the new «Sanation» group during the previous session and asked the commission to give an official assessment of these actions.
Olena Kiseliova, chair of the commission and head of the «European Solidarity» faction, stressed that the commission does not have a mechanism for issuing protocol instructions and suggested that the councillors formulate a proposal to be included in the agenda.
The discussion turned into an argument, and Tetiana Dombrovskaya, claiming that she «was not heard», left the meeting. After that, Olena Kiseliova announced that the work of the commission had been disrupted. The meeting was not continued.
