During the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's meeting, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the military to expand the area of impact of Ukrainian long-range weapons deep into Russia.

He announced this on social media.

According to him, the main topic of discussion during the meeting was Ukraine's capabilities «for long-range sanctions against Russia». The meeting was attended by weapons manufacturers and all those responsible for their use.

«We analysed the effectiveness of our long-range strikes over a certain period and the results achieved. Russia's «oil refining» is already paying a tangible price for the war and will pay an even higher price. We have identified tasks to expand the geography of our long-range capability,» Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The President noted that work is underway with manufacturers to sign long-term contracts, as the three-year term «allows the manufacturer to better plan the use of the necessary resources and scale up supplies to the troops».

Zelenskyy promised that the number of such contracts would be higher. He also said that the meeting also received reports on Russian strikes against Ukrainian infrastructure and energy facilities.

«We identified new protection needs and tasks for working with partners to develop specific areas of air defence supply. Our partners have the necessary systems, and it is important that Ukrainian diplomacy is more active in preparing appropriate solutions,» the President said.
