President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the introduction of a ceasefire is possible, but it requires increased pressure on Russia.
He said this while speaking to journalists before a meeting of the European Council.
«A ceasefire is possible, of course. We all need a ceasefire. But we need more pressure on Russia to achieve it», Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.

He also stressed that Ukraine was not considering any territorial concessions. At the same time, Kyiv is ready for any format of negotiations if it is about honest discussion and lasting peace.
Answering a question about the possible supply of American Tomahawk missiles, the President said that the decision depends on the United States. He recalled that sanctions against Russia's energy sector were once considered unrealistic, but these restrictions were nevertheless imposed.
«So I believe that it may be the same with long-range missiles. But it depends on the American side», Volodymyr Zelenskyy added.
As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is ready to support the peace initiatives of Europe and US President Donald Trump, but not at the cost of territorial concessions.
It should be noted that Donald Trump recently stated that the decision to transfer Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine «was to some extent made», but stressed that he did not seek escalation with Russia.
He noted that he is ready to give Ukraine Tomahawk cruise missiles if the war with Russia is not resolved. According to him, such a statement is an element of pressure on the Kremlin, and he plans to discuss this issue personally with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that Ukraine's use of Tomahawk missiles «would damage relations between Moscow and Washington». Later, the Kremlin said it was waiting for specific decisions from the United States on the possible supply of cruise missiles to Ukraine.
Later, it was reported that the United States could supply Ukraine with 20 to 50 Tomahawk missiles, which is unlikely to significantly affect the course of hostilities or the situation on the battlefield.
Later, however, Donald Trump, during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that Ukraine should not expect to receive long-range Tomahawk missiles anytime soon.
