President of the United States of America Donald Trump has stated that he believes Ukraine has every chance of regaining its entire territory within its original borders. At the same time, he wished both sides of the armed conflict «success».

This was the first official statement Donald Trump made after his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on his Truth Social page.

«After I have become acquainted with and fully understood the military and economic situation in Ukraine and Russia, and after seeing the economic hardship it is causing in Russia, I believe that Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and regain all of its territory within its original borders. With time, patience and financial support from Europe and NATO in particular, the restoration of the original borders that started this war is quite possible. Why not?» he said.

The American leader stressed that Russia has been waging a «senseless war» against Ukraine for three and a half years. He stressed that «real military power» could have won the conflict in less than a week.

«This does not do Russia any favours. In fact, it rather exposes it as a «paper tiger». When the people of Moscow and all the major cities, towns and districts across Russia find out what is really going on in this war, realise that it is almost impossible to get petrol because of the long lines, and face all the other problems of a war economy where most of the money is spent on fighting a Ukraine that has more spirit and is only getting stronger, Ukraine will be able to return its country to its previous form and, who knows, maybe even go further!» Donald Trump said.

Trump also noted that President Vladimir Putin and Russia are currently «experiencing significant economic difficulties» and urged Ukraine «not to waste time and act».

At the same time, he concluded his statement by saying that he wishes both countries «success».

«In any case, I wish both countries success. We will continue to supply weapons to NATO for NATO to do with as it sees fit,» the US president added.

Earlier, Trump called on NATO to shoot down Russian planes in case of violation of NATO airspace.
