President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will take part in a meeting of the UN General Assembly to be held next week in New York.
This was announced by the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Heorhii Tykhyi, noting that the delegation will be headed by the head of state.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that US President Donald Trump is likely to meet with Zelenskyy during the General Assembly. According to him, Trump will continue to make efforts to achieve peace.
As a reminder, UN General Assembly President Annalena Burbock said that a UN peacekeeping mission could be deployed to Ukraine if there is political agreement.
She stressed that peacekeeping missions are more necessary today «than ever before», not only for Europe. In her opinion, a just peace is possible only on the basis of the UN Charter.
