Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said that during the current negotiations on security guarantees for Ukraine, it is possible to divide its territory into three zones: Russian, demilitarised and western.

This was reported by the Magyar Nemzet newspaper.

According to him, the current discussions in Europe on security guarantees allegedly recognise the existence of «the Russian zone», and only its size and format are currently being discussed. He also noted that the issue of the demilitarised zone remains open.

«Ukraine's fate seems to have been sealed. Today in Europe, «elegantly» they are discussing security guarantees, but in fact they mean the division of Ukraine. The result will be a Russian zone, a demilitarised zone and a western zone. The Russian zone already exists, and the debate is only about how many regions it should cover», Viktor Orban stressed.

In addition, he once again opposed Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO, claiming that it would allegedly lead to a war with Russia and worsen Europe's economy. At the same time, he called for an agreement with Russia that would provide for «strategic cooperation and Ukraine's refusal to join Euro-Atlantic structures».

As a reminder, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that his country's position on Ukraine's accession to the European Union remains unchanged, and they «do not care» about the opinion of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
