Ukraine proposes to move from exchanging statements and meetings at the technical level to a conversation between leaders.

This was stated by Volodymyr Zelenskyy on social media.

«We hear statements from Russia. If this is a signal of their serious readiness to end the war with dignity and establish a truly lasting peace, and not just an attempt to win more time for war and delay sanctions, then Ukraine reaffirms its readiness for a meeting at the level of leaders at any time,» the president wrote.

Zelenskyy said this after Putin's statements commenting on the talks between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul and saying that Russia's «goals and conditions for Ukraine from June 2024 remain in force».

«We understand who makes decisions in Russia and who should end this war. The whole world understands this too. Ukraine proposes to move from exchanging statements and meetings at the technical level to the level of conversation between leaders. America proposed this. Ukraine supported it. We need Russia's readiness,» Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

As a reminder, in July this year, Russian troops used more than 3,800 attack UAVs of the «Shahed» type and almost 260 missiles of various types against Ukraine.
