Zelenskyy arrives in London. Photo: Office of the President / illustrativeOn Monday, 23 June, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in London for a working visit. The main purpose of the trip is to strengthen defence cooperation with the UK.
This was reported by the President's spokesman Serhiy Nikiforov, according to «Evropeiska pravda».
During the visit, Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, King Charles III, Speaker of the House of Commons Lindsey Hoyle and Lord Speaker of the House of Lords John McFaul.
The President also plans to visit Ukrainian military personnel undergoing training in the UK and talk to representatives of leading British think tanks.
In the morning, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that during the trip, he would discuss with partners steps to increase pressure on Russia and strengthen Ukraine's defence system.
Earlier, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced plans to put the country's Armed Forces on «combat readiness» due to increased global instability and growing military threats.
