A Ukrainian delegation headed by Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko has arrived in Washington. The delegation also includes representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Presidential Office.

This was announced on 3 June by the head of the Presidential Office, Andrii Yermak.

According to him, the US plans to discuss

  • defence support for Ukraine and the situation at the frontline;
  • strengthening of sanctions against Russia, in particular the bill by Senator Lindsey Graham;
  • creation of the Reconstruction Investment Fund (minerals agreement);
  • returning deported Ukrainian children and supporting this process;
  • countering Russian propaganda related to religious issues.

Andrii Yermak noted that meetings are planned with representatives of both parties in the United States, as well as with Donald Trump's team. The Ukrainian side will also talk about the results of the talks in Istanbul and Russia's prolongation of the ceasefire to continue the war.

As a reminder, Ukraine's Defence Minister Rustem Umierov said that on 2 June, during the talks in Istanbul, the Russian delegation hand ed over a document with its own proposals for a peaceful settlement to Ukraine.

In addition, during the second round of talks in Istanbul, Ukraine and Russia reached an agreement on the exchange of several categories of prisoners of war.
