The Office of President declared its readiness for negotiations: Ukraine is waiting for the promised memorandum from Russia

Ukraine is ready for another round of talks with Russia, but expects a draft document from Moscow — a memorandum on a possible ceasefire.

This was stated by representatives of the Ukrainian authorities, including the head of the Presidential Office, Andrii Yermak, and Deputy Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, UP reports.

In a commentary to the French newspaper Le Monde, Andrii Yermak stressed that Ukraine seeks a constructive dialogue, and therefore considers it important to receive the position of the Russian side in the form of a written draft.

During a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Kyiv, Andrii Sybiha confirmed that Kyiv had conveyed its own vision of the parameters of the future truce to Moscow after the last meeting in Istanbul.

«We are also waiting for a memorandum from the Russian side, as it was announced. We expect it in advance. This was also promised to the American side. In order for the next meeting to be substantive, it is important to receive the document in advance», said Andrii Sybiha.

Earlier, Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow would not publicly discuss the terms of its «memorandum» on the settlement of the situation in Ukraine, stressing that such talks should be held in a closed regime.

Peskov also said that Ukraine has not yet responded to Russia's proposal to hold a second round of talks in Istanbul on 2 June.
